I wake up to turn off a screen
When my phone buzzes and blares and screams
I go to work to look at a screen
Days of Excel and Googling
I come back home to stare at 3 screens
A phone, a game, and then the tv
I go to school to type on a screen
Online papers, discussions, and textbook reading
I have a screen routine
A constant, dependency-based, never ending screen routine
Someone please help me
To break free
Of this windowless room
With taped to the wall
A drawing of a frame around fake trees
In the form of a screen
A fake window we’re forced to see
Every hour, every day, constantly
I typed this poem on a screen
